BSP provides support to Philippines stakeholders at all levels of seafood supply chains to implement responsible sourcing practices to become agents of change towards a sustainable seafood economy. BSP has developed a set of tools tailored to the Philippines reality, that help supply chain stakeholders in transitioning towards implementing responsible seafood sourcing practices.
BSP seeks to promote responsible sourcing practices along Philippines seafood supply chains as well as consumers’ responsible seafood choices. In BSP, we understand that responsible practices of economic actors along the value chain from fishers to consumers is the path forward to improve the environmental performance of Philippine fisheries, safeguard livelihoods of fishing-dependent communities as well as to support the fishing industry and the country in meeting the goals of the UN 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.
